Meigs County Health Department Offers Food Handler and Food Protection Manager Classes

Food Handler classes are designed for anyone that handles food. We teach this course using the ServSafe Food Handler Guide. The guide is included in the price of the class. This class is taught quarterly and costs $10.00 per person.  Strongly recommended for churches, school groups, fire departments and other non-licensed food service operations. The next Food Handler class is scheduled for December 5, 2019.

Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) classes are a more in depth journey into food safety. We use the ServSafe Manager Curriculum for these classes. The price is $150.00 per person ($50.00 discount if you, or your employer have a food license in Meigs County). Price includes book. Class is taught twice per year. The next Level 2 class is scheduled for June 16, 17, 18, 2021.

New rules from Ohio Department of Health have said it is now OK to take the CFPM (Level 2) course work online from Servsafe. The test must still be taken in person; i.e.  “proctored”. If you would like to join us on the 9th of January and have your test proctored, this can be arranged. The cost for proctoring a test is $50.00.

To register, or for more information on any of the Food Safety Classes, or test proctoring, contact Dawn Keller at 740-992-6626 or at dawn.keller@meigs-health.com.
