Cleveland, Ohio (April 29, 2026) – Don Don Diablo is voluntarily recalling (4) cases of its
Habanero Happiness Hand Crafted Hot Sauce produced on March 18, 2025, with lot code D001
031835B. The product is being recalled due to a failure to take and record the pH level. To
ensure the safety of acidified products like hot sauce, it is important to follow the established
processing parameters. When pH levels are above the required parameters premature spoilage or
product adulteration can occur and product safety could be affected. Products were sold in 5 fl.
oz glass bottles.
In addition, Don Don Diablo is voluntarily recalling (4) cases each of its Carolina Creeper (lot
code D004 110824A) and Ghostly (lot code D003 110824A) Hand Crafted Hot Sauces
manufactured on November 08, 2024, due to the processing temperature being below required
limits to ensure product safety. Don Don Diablo is issuing this recall out of an abundance of
caution.
Products were sold in Northeast Ohio at farmers markets including Van Aken Marketplace in
Shaker Heights and Old Trail School in Cuyahoga Valley. In addition, all products from this
voluntary recall were sold within 30 days of production. No products were sold outside of Ohio.
This processing deviation was identified during a routine inspection by the Ohio Department of
Agriculture at the Central Kitchen, Cleveland, OH. There have been no illnesses reported,
however, individuals exhibiting any symptoms of foodborne illness should contact a physician.
Customers who purchased the affected product should dispose of it. Customers with questions
